That's All, Folks!

Well, I've submitted the final grades. You should be able to see yours on the SIO website. You can see your final exam grades on the Blackboard site, as well as your final average. If you are interested, here are the statistics for the semester. At the top, you can see the grade cutoffs for the overall grades: A-77.75, B-66.75, C-56.75, D-41.75. At the bottom are statistics for the final exam, including the grade cutoffs: A-80%, B-70%, C-60%, D-45%.

Have a great break!

Final Exam

I've posted review matrials for the Final Exam. I'll add some old exam problems as soon as I get a chance.

One important point to make: The final exam is a cumulative exam. I've only posted review materials for the subjects covered since Exam #3, but you should make sure to study the material from Exam #1, Exam #2, Exam #3,

I've also updated the information about the review session, which has tentatively been scheduled for Thursday evening, from 7:00-9:00.

As soon as I have confirmation of the time and place for the review session, I'll post it.

Exam #3 Pre-Announcement

It has been pointed out to me that, although I announced in class that Exam #3 would be moved to Friday 16 November, the schedule page still had it listed as Monday 19 November. I want to assure that the day really has been changed. The exam will be Friday 16 November.

I've updated the Schedule page and Policies page accordingly. Sorry for the confustion.

The results are in for Exam #2. Here are the gory details. The grade cutoffs are the standard array

Exam #2

I've posted the review page for Exam #2.

As you probably know, Exam #2, like Exam #1, will be given at 7:30AM in multiple rooms. Students enrolled in 33-111 will note that the scheduled time overlaps with your Physics exam. If you are enrolled in 33-111, you can take the 21-122 exam after your Physics exam, at 9:30 in our regular classroom, PH 100.

Unfortunately, I cannot extend this offer to students who are not taking 33-111. If PH 100 had enough room to accommodate you all, I would give the exam during class time to begin with.

To students inclined to think the 33-111 students are getting an advantage I would point out that (1) these students get only an extra half hour of sleep, and (2) they must prepare for two back to back exams.

In any case, I'll update the review page as needed - with the time and place for the review session, in particular.

Exam #1

It's that time of the semester. Exam #1 will take place next Wednesday, September 26. There is a review page posted on the Schedule page of the website.

Please note that the exam will be held at the unconscionably early hour of 7:30-8:20AM. Both Lecture sections will take the exam at the same time, but we will be split among three classrooms. To make sure that everyone spreads out evenly, I've assigned the classrooms by Recitation section. You can check the Review Page to see where you belong.
